Last, we ask everyone to please slow down and have patience while driving through this busy intersection. Under no circumstances should cars turn or drive through a crosswalk when students or the guards are in the crosswalk. Do not proceed without the crossing guard being ready. Parents/guardians and students must wait for the guard’s “okay” to cross. While we are continually working to provide them with training and support, we need help from you, our parents/guardians, in observing the following norms at that intersection to ensure everyone’s safety: We have high school students who are working as crossing guards at that intersection. We have observed some significant safety concerns at the intersection of Merlin and Spaulding and are asking for the community’s help in addressing these concerns.
